Nyayapathi Srinivasa Rao says he didn't understand what I did; What I
did was expose my ignorance, right!
Off and on, I did see books authored by "smile", mostly at two places
where I usually see most books in a single location: TANA vending
stalls, and Kalasa pudi Srinivasa Rao's house. I haven't read this
poet though.
I didn't make the connection between the "smile" and the poet Ismail.
When NSR referred to the poem hRdaya bhakshi, I summoned all my powers
of word-smithy and coind out of it the name Hidayatulla Bakshi, a
muslim name, and posted that wise-crack.
The second mistake I did was to forget altering the header so that the
message would just go to NSR, and not to the group. Why this happened
now, and at times before, is a long story. What happens is ... never mind.
I guess everyone is looking forward to "Heart Eater" by Ismail. Is there
a book here with a similar name? "Heart is a lonely hunter" or some such?
Is that poetry or fiction?
I don't think that nothing I wrote yesterday, and now could be remotely
construed as casting aspersions on the writer, on poetry, on NSR, on
free-verse (I would think that that's what it would be), on such poems
in TELUSA, and any other entities that could be dragged into this
equation.
I would put forth one suggestion for NSR's and others' consideration.
When posting someone else's poetry, or for that matter prose, story,
whatever; I think some amount of intro (is that what it is?) must be
submitted along with the narrative. Otherwise, one could easily flood
this medium (thank the folks at Wisconsin, who have not batted an eye-lid
yet) with megabytes of existing works. It is not unlike publishing a poetry
anthology, and writing a bit about the poet, and the reason for that
selection to be included, ...
With that, and with the fear that the more I write, the more I may be
putting myself in harm's way, nishkramistAnu.
