as far as i know, lavali is a generic plant name.
it maight stand for a flower or a leaf.
is it tamalapaaku ? srisri used lavali in his puzzzles
as a synonym for a flower. he also cited manucaritra
"phulla lavalee......" as support to his claim that
this word means a whilte (moon-shine) flower.
