  Actually, for items like dattapadi and samasya pUraNam, the avadhAni
  is supposed to give only a prtial solution in the first round for
  each prichchakA's query, and come back much later to finish it up.
  In the NY performaance, Sarma garu simplified it by giving the samasya
  pUraNam in one shot. I am not sure if this is more or less difficult
  for the avadhAni, given that he has to recite all that he said at the
  end (samasyalu, dattapadulu, varNanalu, etc). In fact, it is this
  dhAraNa that distinguishes the various avadhAnams. It is much simpler
  with 8 prichchakAs, as opposed to 108, 216 or 1116.

  I am not sure if I have given the complete answer.
