This conversation is rather premature. I have not heard /read any
suggestion that the government is going to ban this book. Even if the
government wants to do this, it may be difficult to do it legally as
the book does not advocate an overthrow of the government by violent
means; it does not really take any kind of political stance. At best, it
shows an arm of the government in a very bad light. Nor does the book can
be included in the pornographic category. If the
government indeed wants to ban the book, it would have a humongous public
relations fiasco on its hands.

What has happened so far is that the police brass are miffed at
what the book says about them and their agency. They are harassing the
writer for this in various ways and that is what some of us are protesting
right now.

The book has been in print for almost a year. The first edition
says that 1,000 copies are printed. The 'Redif' news story said that a
second edition is being readied. So, there are plenty of copies in
circulation already and are available in the market place. If anybody
wants to buy the book now, all they have to do is to contact the publisher
(or your trusted Telugu bookseller) and order it. I have given the
publisher's address and phone number in a previous post.

PS: As I said before, the book is 800+ pages long. Retyping by volunteers
is not a realistic option.
