Actually, most publishers nowadays use some sort of software to
typeset. If it is written in MS word/Page Maker/whatever-it-is. we
might be able to do something with it. Normally, the publisher
wouldn't be very forthcoming because of copyright issues. But if the
book gets banned internet can be a very effective medium for
distributing it to people.
The least we can do is to put it out on the format we get, so that
anybody with the right software can download and print it.
