Q 2: If we got to intoduce a new word into the
lang., what should be the criterion ? Who
should be allowed to do that ?
I'm a new subscriber to telusa and I apologise if
the above questions were answeres previously.
Any way, my opinions.
A 1: No one creates a word. A word gets coined over time.
Eg: Warangal was Orugallu. Bombay was Mumbai.
The names Orugallu and Mumbai might have been coined
by someone after a king's name or god's name. These
are proper nouns. Usually, we see nouns as new words,
esp. in telugu. Other examples are Telugu and Apple.
I don't know what an 'apple' is called in coastal areas
but in hyd. and adj. areas, it's called Sepu after
Seb from Hindi.
A 2: Examples for verbs: Yo = Yes. Recently, one of the
English dictionories made the above word official.
The criteria are that they should be used frequently
and be meaningful.
