Thanks for the clarification! I do have the Telugu translation, published in
'84, back home. Let me try my luck this winter to obtain (atleast a photo -)
copy of _Dissent Note_.

Even Gidugu Seetapati refers to this committee in one of his books (most
probably in his _History of Telugu literature_) how his father lost the
'battle' those days and how he later pursued the matter with authorities
to withdraw the law, thus claiming success.

nETi telugu - nivedika : Memorandum On Modern Telugu
(moolam, Gidugu Venkata Ramamurti)
(Translated by Budaraju Radhakrishna)
Hyderabad : Visalandhra Publishing House, 1991.

Suresh Kolichala, a member of this list, must be able to give his address.
In one of his messages here he mentioned about his recent meeting with
B. Radhakrishna. B's son (Srinivas) used to be (or still ?) at U of Wisc,
Madison and also ran a mailing list (India Alert) for long time.

Aside, if you are interested in Gidugu's remarks on Kandukuri, and esp. his
attacks on vEdamvenkaTaraaya Saastri, pl. refer to G's
_aandhra panDita bhishakkula bhaashaa bhEshajam_.
As I mentioned earlier, he literally dissects things like a surgeon in that
book; among others the word: sabhikulu (a 23 pp. long analysis!).

Has any one heard of BanGoRey, who did some pioneer work in publishing and
preserving some forgotten Telugu literature. He published all his books at
his own cost (thus suffering huge losses!) and also some of others. Esp. he
is well known for his work on C. P. Brown and early book printing in Telugu
(Dr. J. mangamma's book was published by him.). On the same note, is any one
aware of the CP Brwon research project at SVU, Tirupati? It was once lead by
prof. GN Reddy.

I am afraid that vaaviLLa is gone. So are many others. I had been to Bala
Saraswati a few years ago. Theres a "navOdaya" branch in T. Nagar, Madras
(on Pondy Bazar Rd.) and in Sunkurama Chetty St. (old city) one may
find one or other. I am not aware of any book shops that sell Telugu
books in the other above mentioned cities. IMO The best address in Hyd.
is Visaalandhra. In Bangalore there used to be a couple of excellant 2nd
hand book shops on MG Rd. Don't know now!

-->Sanskrit books: There was a query for Sanskrit book sellers' addresses in
Delhi on Indology List 4 months ago. And there were many informative
followups. You may like to check Indology list archives.
