Gidugu, Gurajada, and Boodaraju Raadha Krishna.

Yesterday, Sreenivas Paruchuri was asking (see below) about the original
telugu name of "dissent note", written by Gurajada. Unfortunately, the
original (i.e., written by G.A.) was in English, with the title "Dissent Note",
and was published originally by the vavilla publications (it is one of the
best Telugu publishers I know of).

This original was translated into Telugu and was published by Visalandhra
publications under "Gurajada Rachanalu". I am looking for the original
English.

Why do I think this note will be useful? Reading from the telugu verion,
I can only tell you that 80 years ago, the fight between lakshinikas and
the rebels was no less severe than now on the telusa. I wanted to present
Gurajada's original Dissent Note, he was dissenting with the opinion of
the Madras committee that established (via a fiat) what sort of telugu
should be used by students in their intermediate examinations. He himself was
a member of the committee (obviously, held a rather minority opinion).

Another book, "Memorandom on Modern Telugu" written by Gidugu was translated
again, into Telugu, by Boodaraju Radhakrishna. I am wondering if someone
can tell me how to reach Boodaraju RadhaKrishna garu and see if I can obtain
the original.

Both of the above are excellent scholarly works. Gidugu refers to Arabic --
the grandhika arabic and the vernacular arabic, and many vernacular movements
of Europe. I was breathtaken when I read these two books (years ago), and
always wanted to see the originals.

As to Veeresalingam versus Gurajada, Gurajada himself states in his second edition
(1914) about "brahmavivaham" another play by veeresalingam in which similar
"brahmin customs" were made fun of. He goes at length (one paragraph) to discuss
how the two plays differ.
