     What was characterised as 'so much anger' is truthfully
     'so much anguish.' The cause for such an anguish
     is not irrelevant, but need not be reiterated, now.

     why should one be  so upset about it? It is that person's      
     interest and there is nothing controversial or anti-Gaddar in  
     it. ---"

     I sincerely felt then and still feel that such classic
     'aesthetic' analysis of gaddar's songs will lead us into
     danger of diverting away the 'real' discussion on gaddar, and 
     relegate the purpose for which gaddar is writing, singing 
     these songs into highly  academic, if not into esoteric realms. 
     
     Finally, if some one who is a novice to chandassu, gaNavibhajana,
     and all that jazz about the 2^26 vRittas and their systematics,
     attempts at this exercise, it would not be that bad; - but it
     was done by one whose scholarship and erudition in these and other 
     areas are unsurpassable by any one in this group, and who could have 
     led a very fruitful discussion on gaddar! That's all the more
     a reason for expressing 'so much anguish.'
     
     Finally, allow me to conclude by the following plagiarisation
     (I am great at this art!)from the avataarika of
     jaiminee bhaaratam:
     
     "marri maatrambe pillala marri pEru
     pEruvalekaadu Saaradaa peethakambu
     vaarilO 'raama kRshNuni' vaakya saraNi
