To All,

I think i can crosspost to Telusa what I said on scit.
The following was a reply to paruccori srinivas's post.

>I personally heard Telugu Ghazals of PBS and si.naa.re only, and did n't like
>the later's tape (nor his lyrics. Strictly a personal opinion!).

Quite respectable an opinion, that! I wish that rather be everyone's
opinion.

C Na Re wrote unqualified rubbish, made speeches, opened
umbrellas according to #enDa#, played prosaic word-games and brewed bromides,
cooked 'kaaki vanne telupu malle puvvu nalupu'-type cheap spoonerisms,
preached sermons to silly congregations, got some bhaTraajulu and pilla
kavulu who wanted doctorate degrees and jobs!

He is the most famous non-poet. He is a successful politician
disguised as a man of letters!

And as a cine-kavi he wrote MOSTLY dull, uninspiring lyrics.
Also some #bootulu#.

His influence on neighboring states like Karnataka is such that
a translator of his 'viSvambhara' remarked to me :
'C naa re is a poet. your digambara kavulu didn't sing. they shouted'

Is there a worse example that demonstrates how damaging to telugu
literary culture the rise of non-poets can be??
