Here is something which I know about him :
-----------------------------------------
Sri Potukuci Sambasiva Rao otherwise very wellknown as "udaya kiranalu"
Sambasiva Rao, has walked through a long way in Telugu Literature
field. He is a lawyer by profession.
He along with Sri Nimmagadda Vishwanadham, Sri Kalanadha Bhatta
Veera Bhadra Sastry and other literates started "Navya Sahitee samiti"
in 1952. Under the banner of "Navya Sahitee samiti" Sri Potukuci encouraged
many young writers. Prof. Kuruganti Seetaramayya and prof. Boyi Bheemanna
were among the people who have been giving their continuous support.
Sri Sambasiva Rao is a short story writer, novelist, critic, drama
writer, singer and an actor.
He is a very emicable person. He courts everyone with love who ever
approaches him for his advice. (My personal opinion!)
He became famous by his novel "udaya kiranalu" published serially
in Andhra Patrika weekly in 1955. It had won the first prize as
a good novel of the year. Approx. 76 novels were written that year.
In 1967 his "udaya kiranalu" was translated in to Russian language.
He is hailed as "Andhra Nikoloy" for his writings.
His other novels are "Anveshna, Edurojula Majili, Calamayya Sastipurti".
He has written some cinema novels (scripts).
His other work "nA jeevitaMlO prayatnAlu prayOgAlu" is a very good
work, this is a sort of auto biography.
Under the banner of "navya sahitee samiti" Sri Sambasiva Rao organised
"akhila bhArata telugu racayitala mahasabha" in the year 1960. These
were held every year till 1985.
In the year 1960 Sri Potukuci started "vishva sahitee" monthly magazine.
Sri Potukuci represented Andhra Pradesh Government in various countries
as a literary critic.
In 1975 "prapaMca telugu mahasabha" was organised and everyone is aware
that Sri Potukuci was behind the event.
In the year 1986 Indian Writers conference held in Kanya Kumari awareded
him as "bhArateeya lEkhak nikoloy".
Sri Potukuci has written many short stories.
eduruprasnalu (1952), hyderabadulo (1957), bratukulapatanam (1962),
kottaviluvalabratuku (1963), seharamkadhalu (1964), mamdaralu (1969),
sambasivarao kadhalu (1978) many more.
Sri Sambasiva Rao is a verygood poet, too. His "ambasivananda Lahari"
satakam was published serially in Andhra Bhoomi, and many critics hailed
it as a nice work.
Sri Sambasiva Rao's "hantakulu" stage play (nATakaM) won the best play
award from "Sahitya Acadamy - Andhra Pradesh" in the year 1969.
He is a very good singer.
He was awarded honorary doctorate. He is a "kala prapoorNa".
