To the extent I encouraged him to post his thoughts, I feel responsible
for the attack on his motives, and the way in which his post was
misuderstood.
This adds to my on-and-off desire to leave the group. I have to give
it some serious thought.
On and off I have been tempted to take a poll of the membership of this
group, on this matter or that. Not as a "vote" per se, but as a "sense
of the membership" device.
I AM ASKING FOR IT NOW. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY OF THE MEMBERS
AGREE WITH THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY KUMAR VADAPARTHY, AND HOW MANY
AGREE WITH THE REACTION IT ENGENDERED. NOT JUST THE USUAL ACTIVE
(PERHAPS 15 TO 20 PEOPLE) BUT THE WHOLE (LAST COUNT: 62) GROUP, OR
AS MANY OF THEM AS POSSIBLE. I KNOW THAT AT LEAST HALF-A-DOZEN OR SO
MAY NOT BE READING ANY OF THE POSTS.

Many a time I am reminded of the following poem.

I am afraid to provide the meaning ina nay sort of way, because that
would be a tacit assumption that the poem is not understandable to
the average TG/G, and that would brand it as poem-non-grata. Hate to
do that to tikkana.
To give an exaggerated example to illustrate the distorted logic that
is being paraded in this forum (I haven't used such strong words ever
before, don't like the fact that I am using them, hope that I would
never use them in the future),
The car-jacking-death of Pam Basu is good in the sense it
resulted in some needed legislation.
Drive-by-random-shootings are good because they make you
aware of the dangerous roads, and prople you to take measures.
Gratuitous attacks/assaults, facetious remarks, flippant comments
are good, because they provoke discussion.
