This is my English translation:
Between two young women was a Madhava;
Between two Madhavas was a young woman;
At the centre of a circle formed thus
the son of Devaki played the flute.
The following is my Telugu translation:
angana-kangana madhya mAdhavuDu
mApati-mApati madhyano-kangana
iTulanu kalpita valaya madhyamuna
dEvakitanayuDu vENuvu nUdenu
This is the VipranArAyaNa version:
nArI nArI naDuma murAri
harikI harikI naDuma vayarI
tAnokaDainA talakoka rUpai
manasulu docE rAdhA-mAdhava-kELI-naTanA
Actually this verse, in the metre sragviNi, forms a part of an aSTaka
with the makuTam "saMjagau veNunA devakIna.ndanaH". I am particularly
fond of these poems.
