I am not going in to details about the Verse mentioned by Sri Sadananda.
I will write more on that on SCIT soon. Coming to Sri Jampala's point
about the philosophy meaning in "chooDumadE cheliyaa ....", I posted
a message on this topic in SCIT 10days ago. Yes, the song is based on
the Sanskrit verse (adapted in to Telugu by Samudrala Sr. and mallaadi).
While talking about the film "vipranaaraayaNa", let me thank
Syamala Rao gaaru for quoting the poem:
> This is from vaijayanti vilaasam by saarangu tammaya.
> madhura vaaNi says to dEva dEvi.
> iTuvanTayyale kaara,
which was also used in the film (Singer: bhaanumati, raaga: kaapi).
I did n't know that its from "vaijayanti vilaasam", but Samudrala's work.
Coming to SriSri's film songs; I recommend his _paaDavOyi bhaarateeyuDaa:
A film song compilation_, where he writes in detail about the harikatha
in film "vaagdaanam" and the word suggested by chadalavaaDa. He did write
a couple of devotional songs (if that matters)in his very early days. One
is a la aanjanEya danDakam (film name missing me. Came some time in '51.).
He was heavily criticised recently for being immoral (my personal
interpretation!). More on SriSri's film songs later.
