HOW :
-----
There are two types of words in Telugu as you know
(a) druta prakRUtikamulu (b) kaLalu
mOdamun is a word ending with a syllable 'n' this is a
drutaprakrutika.
Ex : vAnin, cEsitini, vaccenu etc..
'mOdamun' (isn't this a pratipadOkta!)
You have taken this as mOdumun(u)n (like in dviteeya, naturally
it is a drutaprakrutika)
I think this is mOdamun(a)n (in saptami)
Let me take an example to justify my thought :
ka. kshitidAna micuunataDunu, natikAMksha barigrahiMcu nataDunu durita
cyutulai Satavatsaramulu, SatamakhalOkamuna greeDa salupudu relamin
(bhAgavata - asthma skanda - trivikrama)
Here in the last line 'elamin' does not fit.
Why because it is 'elaminu' or 'elami' (leaving druta)
they do not fit. It looks in the sentance
'SatamakhalOkamuna greeDa salupuduru'
'elamin' is a redundant word if you suffix 'u' and make it 'elaminu'
or leaving 'n' and making it as 'elami'.
Now aligning the same sentance will give us a good meaning :
'SatamakhalOkamuna elamina kreeDa salupuduru'.
Dear Sir,
Same in the case of 'bhArata mAta navve'. If you suffix the
syllable 'u' to 'mOdamun' it becomes redundant. It should have
a suffix of 'a' making it 'mOdamuna' as adverb.
The correct sentance is :
'bhArata mAta tana biDDala kasthamu cooci mOdamuna navve'.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Sir I beg you to please correct me if I am wrong.
If there is 'mOdamunan' then it would have been a perfect fit.
There is a flexibility in grammer where you can leave 'na' in the
'nan'. Please give me a week time I shall get back to you with
the perfect answer. 'mOdamun' is accepted at certain instances
in place of 'mOdamunan'.
1) bhArata mAta mOdamuna navve tana biDDala kashTamu cooci
2) bhArata mAta tana biDDla kashTamu cooci mOdamuna navve
>By the way, they are numerous issues with the poem, which I do not wish to
>discuss.
What ever you wish sir. I feel this is a great oppurtunity for
me to enrich my language. I do not want to disturb you
perhaps, you are busy with other things.
Regards
-Madhava-
