On 3-20-1996, Sri Syamala Rao Garu asked for a specific
chilipi padyaM on pakODi. Sorry to disappoint him!
But, I have a couple of pakODi pajyaalu from
tirupativenkata kavulu.
utsaaha: senagapinDi yullipaaya cinnimirpakaayaluM
jonipi yaMdu nallaminta conipi muddacesiyuN
analataptamaina nEtiyanduvaici vEcinaM
janu pakODi yaneDu pEra jakkanaina khaadyamai.
Me says:
You won't become a galloping gourmet trying this terrible
pakODi recipe. allaM and vullipaaya do not go together!
(Any single and slaving graduate student in physics could
tell you that!) This 'verse' has rhythm imposed by the utsaaha
meter! Read it aloud! You feel like riding a galloping horse.
But, don't run off(run-on?) with the horse in excitement!
hey! pooraka friends! Just a friendly wager. Convert the above
poem to sugandhi vRttaM or taraLa vRattaM. You can forget yati,
if you want.( I promise, you still you get an 'A') I will throw
in a copy of "Satanic Verses," as a gift. (Please refrain from
reading in-between the lines. No offense implied or intended!)
The second pajyaM on pakODi:
Ca: karakaralaaDu koMcemagukaaramu galgu balaaMDuvaasanaa
haramagu kottimeeriyuyunu nallamu ganpaDunaccaTaccaTaN
dharanu pakODi bOledu padaarthamu lEdani tadrasajnulaa
daramuna balkucuMdu radi taadRsamE yagunaMcu dOcediN.
I says:
May be a new and improved recipe for pakODi! That's all!!
