Many of us are familiar with vEmana padyAlu and the punch-line associated
with them. They did a fine job of popularizing the ATa veladi metre and the
jANu telugu atmosphere among masses. There is hardly any telugu who can't
recognize what is "uppu kappu rambu..". In fact, after these vEmana padyAlu,
the ATa veladi metre and this "viSwadABirAmA-vinura vEma" makuTam became so
popular that people started attributing other funny/punny pieces to vEmana.
Does anybody remember the column titled "(i)vE mana padyAlu" in Andhra BUmi/
jyOti/praBa in recent years ??
Anyway, here are a couple of pieces which I remember reading sometime back,
donno if they belong to vEmana or were attributed to him later.
# 1 "BAma yokate brahma nAlkana nilicenu,
ramaNi yokate vishNu rommu tanne,
nAti jEri Sivuni nAriga jEsenO,
viSwadABirAma vinura vEma..:)"
# 2 "pAla kaDali lOna pavaLincu dEvuDu,
golla yinDla pAlu gOra nEla,
yeduTi sommu tIpi yenta vArikiyaina,
viSwa dABi rAma vinura vEma..:-)"
Corrections, comments and additions ?? U R most welcome..
