Though, I never came across this vEmana padyamu earlier, I thoroughly enjoyed
the incident from SrI mAdhava kumAr turumeLLa.

>> peMTa dineDu kAki pitaruDeTlAyerA,
>> viSvadAbhirAma vinura vEma !!

I can't imagine his dad's situation after mAdhava recited this and I think
our little mAdhava was very lucky that his mAmayyalu were not around at that
time..:-)

We used to remember some of this kind of poems by heart while reciting those
sumatI, BAskara and vEmana SatakAlu in the childhood, especially the ones
conveying a derogatroy sense for the catchy usage of those bad words in them,
whose meaning we don't know at that age anyway, (not a good way of building
vocabulary, I guess ..:))

Anyway, this kind of kavitwamu is classified into "tiTTu kavitvamu". I came
across a few poems of this kind before and here is one from my memory ---

" kATiki kaTTelu cErenu,
yETAvala mUka cEri yEDuva doDagen,
kUTiki kAkulu veDalenu,
yETavarapu pOtarAju lEDA ? lEDA ?? "

Read this sometime back in Andhra praBa/JyOti weekly. The situation is a
literary fight between two contemporary "tiTTu kavulu" in which one of them
is addressing the other (obviously whose name is yETavarapu pOta rAju),
querying his where abouts.

modaTi sAri vinnappuDu nEnu kUDA, "vArnI, A kAlamlO, ilA sampradAya
badhdhamgA, CandO BaritamgA tiTTukonE vArA ??" ani tega hAASchcharya
paDipOyESAnusumanDI..:-)

mari, tenAli vAri "ganjAyi trAgi turakula sanjAtamu gUDina.." vanTi padyAlu,
SrInAthuni merupulU, kavi cowDappa gAri(vI+ vAri paina yitarulu vrAsinavI)
virupulU, inkA cATuvulU etc.. ilA cAlA, cAlA unnAyi, mana telugu sAhityamlO..
and prasAd gArU, I'd love to see some 'cilipi pATalu' also in our forum.

Pl. keep'em coming..

regards..
