You got the wrong abboori. It is abboori raamakRUshNaa raavu, the
father of varada, and a father figure for Srisri. The example was
that of an ad written on a narrow plank in a 'kaTTela aDitee', invoked
by abboori to poke gentle fun at Srisri's early attempts to break free of
the chandO restraints.

I think that you will feel right at home here!

However, you seem to be implying that rhythm is all important and that
it is only feasible in 'metric poetry'. The first is, of course, a matter
of personal preference and not really amenable to discussion. The second,
I believe, is a fallacy that can be easily disproven by a quick reading
of modern Telugu poetry.
