Thanks for all of you for your educative articles on avadhAnam.
Here is my contribution to the topic :
avadhanam should be taken in its total perspective. Avadhani can
hardly get any chance to show his poetic talent in dattapadi and
nishiddhAkshari like subjects. We can hardly expect any poetic
expression when the pruccakka comes up and asks,
"use EMSET LAWSET BEDSET GOODSET bla.. bla.. bla.. and tell me
one poem in Bharatardha".
1. In the real sense is that possible for an avadhani to show his
poetic talent, when he is restricted to the words given by the
others ? The thing which comes out may not be a real poem but a
syntatictally perfect composition.
2. Same is the case with nishiddhakshari. One has no chance
to show his poetic talent.
3. "SamasyapuraNa" is just like solving a riddle. One can
not expect a high poetic expression in it. Since the last line
is already prepared by someone else.
What else is left out, is ASuvu and varNana. In these aMSAs we
can expect poetic talent and expression. I have observed that
avadhanis like Sri Madasani and Madugula never disappointed the
pruccakka in these aspects.
In my opinion "avadhanis are born poets with very high intellectual
calibre". But, by ristricting them to some chosen words we are
unable to comprehend the poetic potential in them.
I was given a chance to participate as a pruccaka and I have chosen
"ASuvu". Because, I felt that by participating in things like
the dattapadi, nishiddhakshari, samasyapuraNa I can not enjoy
the poetic beauty of Sri Medasani.
I have asked the ASuvu, he had not disappointed me, I enjoyed
a beautiful composition on Lord Siva.
One can not believe that a beautiful (Yes! na bhootO nabhavishyati)
varNana on NrusiMha was told in one of the SatAvadhanaMs of
brahmaSri Veluri Sivarama Satry garu :

My personal opinion is that, both Medasani and Madugula
are very good poets. People are not getting the maximum out of
them, that's all.
If you want to enjoy Sri Medasani Mohan's poetic talent please
read his "purushOttama cakravarti" padya kAvyaM. It is really
a good poetry book. So far it is not yet published as a book.
I heard that he is going to visit USA, ask him you may get it.

intellectuals. I always wonder why at some aspects they go against
and make weird comments! This reminds me the song :

I just could not refrain myself with out posting the last paragraph.
Honestly, no intentions to *personally* hurt anyone. I will feel
happy if you criticise, "vyakti jeevana paramapada sOpAnaMlO, maMci
