I have a bunch of them, old classics ( not only laakshaNa Saastra
granthaas, but some Sanskrit works like vidyaakara, bhartRhari etc.,),
new classics, and radically very new books including some dalit works.
As long as I do not have to cite and quote too often from them,
I 'll let others know of my list.

Just a very dumb question. Is paavani Saastri a scholar or writer or a poet
or a critic? Or all of them or none of the above? To my knowledge, which I
confess is very "meager" ( is variginda subbarao gaaru reading?) I thought
he was only a printer and publisher of VSN's works (some were very badly
reprinted!). And, he has recently brought out the 'complete works of
VSN ( minus raamayaNa kalpavRksham!!) and was selling them for a very
reasonable price!

Since this thread or should I say 'naara,' grew out of gOngUra, I have
to relate my personal experience. It has absolutely no literary value!

It was more than a quarter century ago!

I used to grow gOngUra on the easement land, in a large plot of 16' x 32'!
Those were the frustrating days of post-Vietnam with 'flower children,'
marijuana and hippies! One night, I lost the entire crop ( both manci
gOngUra and pulla gOngUra) to the neighborhood'kids.' Subsequently, I had
to explain the nutritional value and traditional importance of gOngUra at
the local police station! Took a little of chutney for them to taste!!

Regards and Thanks.
