This would be good if anything can be done. Retyping old works is a
herculean effort. It is a monotonous work and hence difficult to
attract volunteers. A more practical approach might be to collect
funds and get it typed in India.

Make sure you obtain copyrights before you put anything like that on the Web.
When I went to India last year I spoke to viShwanAtha satya nArAyaNa's
son pAvani SAstri. He got VSN's complete works published recently. I
enquired into putting his complete works on the web. He seemed
enthusiastic about the idea. However, he lost
all the floppies the typesetting house gave him! He was under the
impression all he needed to reproduce were the plates. What a
tragedy?
