telangANA sangatEmO kAnI New Zealand lO we used to buy gOMgUra from a
chinese merchant in the weekly flea market.

Maharashtrians use it as cattle fodder (they call it aMbADA, I think),
but to the best of my knowledge, they do not use it in their own diet.

In case anybody is wondering why so much discussion of Botany on this
forum, well gOmGUra has been called "Andhra mAta" by ramaNA reDDi in the
movie "mAyA bazAr".

I guess we can take this concession, as to most of us, gOmgUra
represents Telugu kalcaru as much as "mA telugu talli", "kAkamma
picikamma", "rAju gAri EDuguru koDukulu" and "canda mAma rAvE".

drAksha, kadaLee, nArikELa, pAShANa pAkAla kannA gOMgUra pAkam mana
jihvaki tondaragA andutundanukunTanu EmanTAru?
(mashTArU, idi mAtraM nijhaMgA saradAkE sumanDI!)

Uday "gOmgUra tinani vADu arava vADai puTTun" Bhaskar
(once again, no offence to our neighbors, just an affirmation of the
essential Teluguness of gOMgUra)
