Many have missed the main point of this example. It is certainly not to say
that no more "new" recipes would be developed. It is to say that there
are, and always will be, some basic rules for recipes, in the way of
combination of ingredients, and combination of vegetables. The same holds
for spices. There are combinations that are preferred, and combinations
that are verboten. Same for notes in Ragas, gaNas in vRttas, ...
When one violates these "natural" rules (not dictated by any one in
particular) the result leaves a bad taste in your mouth, as I find in the
case of most of the current Telugu movies. Of the handful I have been
suckered into seeing, none have a plausible plot, situations don't have the
feel of "postivie-realism"; they all look like Escher's paintings, that
give you a nagging feeling of something being wrong, even if at first
glance you are not exactly sure of what it is that is wrong.
It is one thing to say "yeah, that sounds good, I can't wait for chilEbee",
and quite another to relish one. As is often said, "be careful of what you
wish for; 'cos you might actually get it". To JVC: Neither a promise, nor a
threat!
