Srinivas Gaaru,
Unlike you, I have spent just four weeks on this forum, and this is the
only Telugu list that I sub*scribe to. I can't help adding my rendu
paisalu to your post.
I have found that two topics that generated a lot of heat in these four
weeks were Chando kavitvam and bUtu kavitvam.
Wasn't it Sitaramayya Gaaru who lamented the lack of interest in
StrIvAda sAhityam and dalita sAhityam on this forum?
Incidentally, one thread which I was hoping would develop further was
the discussion on the purpose of poetry (was it Nasy Gaaru who started
it?)
BTW, the problem is not only on this forum. I have found that the Telugu
literary community has always been guilty of turning trivial matters
into major controversies while ignoring the more fundamental questions
that should be occupying our minds and attention. Some time back, Jwala
Mukhi put his foot right in his mouth with the ridiculous comment about
strIvAda poetry being "pornographic" (at least that resulted in one of
the best anthologies of poetry that I have read in recent times - "nIli
mEghAlu").
Yes Sir, I am all for a more purposeful forum (samAjAniki hitamainadi
sAhityAm kadandi?)
Regards,
Uday "nEnu saitam adusu lOpala kAlu pettAnu" Bhaskar
PS: I had posted this on May 24th, but it bounced back because of an
interesting side effect of the shift to majordomo - since majordomo
expects commands in the body of the message, if any of our messages
happen to contain text which the majordomo software thinks is a command
(in my case, the word sub*scribe), it is unable to process the mail.
Solution? if this post of mine comes through, the solution seems to be
to insert some other character in the middle of the offending word.
