Not bad :-) I had tough time in guessing bucchibaabu's relative. At first I
mixed up Bucchibaabu with bairaagi (aaloori), who is from Tenali, and thought
that its chakrapaaNi. Later recalled that bucchibaabu is from Elooru and his
relatives circle can't be in far away :-) tenaali.

Partly the author's name; unnava, itself caused panic among British rulers
and lead to the ban. Also the original title! I also heard that they feared
communal violance with such titles. Anyhow its one of the most (well)
studied/researched novels in Telugu. BanGoRe (who did some pioneer work
on C P Brown, studying the history of printing in Telugu and publishing
rare books ...) brought out:

_maalapalli navalapai prabhutva nishEdhaalu_
ViSaalandhra Publishers, 1979.

I also saw two more books on maalapalli at my relatives place:

maalapalli-vimarSanaatmaka pariSeelana by samudraala kRshnamaachaarya and
maalapalli-gOdaan navalala tulanaatmaka pariSeelana by N. Swaami
