I have read maalapalli quite a while back and liked it. It really
captured the social and political transformation taking place in
Guntur (?) district of that time. When reading it, I remember wondering
what ostensible reason was given by the (British?) authorities for
banning it off and on. Also, I wondered whether Sangadaasu's spirited
defense of Hinduism in a religious debate with the Christian missionary
was realistic or a product of the author's wishful thinking.
