As many of you rpobably know by now, the proposal for
automoderation of Soc.Culture.Indian.Telugu (SCIT) to eliminate
crossposts has passed by a wide margin (276-64, I think), and should be
implemented soon. My thanks to Kamala Anupindi who spearheaded this effort,
Ari Seetaramayya whose perseverance started it all, Suresh Kolichala, Ramana
Juvvadi and Ratnakar Sonthi whose techinical expertise made this
feasible, and Baparao whose counsel and guidance that group depended upon.

I also thank the many telusaers that supported the proposal and
voted for it. This proposal wouldn't have come to fruition except for the
discussions long ago in this forum about SCIT and what we can do to
resuscitate it. Again, thanks for your support.

But then telusaers taking an active role in this effort is not
particularly surprising. In my thinking, Telusa wouldn't have been born
except for SCIT. Most telusaers were introduced to each other through
SCIT. I feel a debt to SCIT for the many good things that it made possible.

Eliminating crossposts alone does not make SCIT a great place. It
also takes active participation of the responsible SCITizens. I request
all of you to take an active part in posting to, and participating in
discussions on SCIT.

Also, please make sure that your posts are all sent to the
Telusa-SCIT@smartcad4.me.wisc.edu address so that a) they enrich SCIT,
and b) reach a wider audience. As the experience in that last six months
or so shows, nothing terrible will happen to the poster or telusa if
their posts make it to SCIT.

I realize that there are some Telusaers who are vexed with all
these messages about SCIT on this forum, and some who think of SCIT as a
four letter word that they would rather not use. Though I donot agree
with their views, I apologize for imposing on them yet again. Hopefully,
this would be my last post on this subject in this forum.

Once again, thank you all for your past, current, and future
suport to SCIT.

Regards. --- V. Chowdary Jampala
