except address one point, in my capacity as 'owner' of the list.

Nothing in my post, to which VVR responded, alludes in any way, to VVR's
membership in telusA. There are many in this group, whose ideas I do
not share. There are some whose ideas I might find troubling. But in the
nearly two years of existence of this group, no one has been forced to
desist from posting, no one has been asked/invited to leave. No one who
wanted to join the group has found it difficult.

We have not actively recruited people to join the group, nor did we make
it difficult for anybody to join. Occasionally people drop out for a while
and rejoin a while later. Other than by looking at a list of the group
membership, I am not even aware of these comings and goings.

In fact, VVR belongs to a select class of telusa members, those that are
twice-born. One of half-a-dozen or so such telusa members who are listed
twice in the membership, such Bachoti, Jampala, Ratnakar, Adiyan, .---"

I did not understand the intent of the above quoted part, until I have
gone back to the archives and looked at my ridiculous ramble. Opps!
I goofed in transfering about six words in succession from word six to
lotus three mail!

The part I missed was like a take off on the Gresham's Law -- referred to
by Sree Ramakrishna, more or less intended at my ramble --,and that missed
part would have been a further irritant!!

Let me cut and paste verbatim both the versions; the one that has already
irritated Sree Ramakrishna and the other which would have irritated him more!

Here is the first one:

----
Unfortunately, the bulk of the rest of the post is very much
like a personal tirade on me and on my intentions as a telusaa
'subscriber;' however soft, naive, and 'affectionate' it sounds
on the surface. As such, I do not want to stoop to respond!
----

The second one:

----
Unfortunately, the bulk of the rest of the post is very much
like a personal tirade on me and on my intentions as a telusaa
'bad-words-drive-out-good-words-subscriber;' however soft, naive,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
and 'affectionate' it sounds on the surface. As such, I do not
want to stoop to respond!
----

(hyphens and highlights added for this ramble to reduce confusion.)

No wonder, the word 'subscriber,' lost it's intended irritation.

The Gresham's Law I know was from Sir Thomas Gresham to Queen Elizabeth I,
which in summary states that bad money drives out good money!( If there is
another, I confess I do not know!) The "word" substitution I made, I thought
would fit better in light of references made to my 'posts.' on telusA.

The missed words created so much tangential tension and exposed my acquired
and self-inflicted qualifications, viz., as a member of telusA.
Incidentally, I thought that the word 'subscriber' fits well with the missed
phrase, rather than contributor or poster!!

Now as to the elevation of my status as a telusA 'dwija,' it was due to
my computerese ignorance rather an anything else! I still do not know
how to make two or sometimes three different computers at different
locations to sensibly 'talk' to each other! What do you expect from
one who has had real hands on experience as a professional with nothing
other than an IBM 1620 and all that beautiful papertape!

As far as my becoming a 'dwija,' let me assure you that my mother would
be thrilled to death to learn that at least at this ripe age, I have
finally become one, after all these years in this mlEcha dESa!!

hi mom!!

Best Wishes

V R " proud to belong in the select company of 'dwijaas' " Veluri

PS: I was surprised to learn that the so-called-Gresham's Law was
first explained by Copernicus!!
