It is sad to note that the discussion on 'nalupu' finally ended thus
making everyone proclaiming his/her color-blindedness, but we all knew
that all good things to come to an end, don't we? The season of
confessions is declared open, and a string of happy faced confessions
eagerly followed, but no thanks, I am not falling into that trap and you
are not going to here any juicy revelations from me. At least not
today.
Instead we talk about another physical aspect and discuss if there has
been a bias ever, proven or otherwise in our literature.
Take poDavu for instance. Since it is the topic of the day, take all
these popular romantic novels. Aren't most of the heroes six foot
tall ( I don't know if it is true or just a popular myth!) as if a inch
less would make them less heroic? I barely escaped by half-an-inch, but
you all, who don't measure up to the mark should unite and fight this
bigotry.
I haven't seen any tall 'vigrahaalu' but that could be a matter of lack
of material. BTW, what does Nannayya and Tikkana say about those
ancient heroes? I know they are 'aajaanubaahulu' but that doesn't
guarantee their height. (Ever imagine how odd they must be looking with
those long hands?) What's the stand of our ancient literature, the vE..
OK, I stop there. But let your analyses run wild.
