In all fairness to TANA, TANA does recognize the importance of
providing a forum for the classical and folk arts and other non-filmi
stuff. Over the last 20 years, TANA invited (and bore the expenses of)
many non-filmi artists from many fields and of many persuasions.

I am sorry if I gave the impression of criticising what TANA is
doing or not doing. My point was that criticism of undue attention
awarded to film related events compared folk/classical
performances is unwarranted. I may be wrong, but I feel in all
likelihood sponsoring the latter is not possible without revenues
raised from the former. Thus, existence of film personalities
who otherwise could be non-entities with rare exceptions
is a 'necessary evil'?
