While I am afraid this discussion might not belong in the "telusaa"
group, I would like to make just one comment here. I am surprised
there haven't been many comments.

Sri Nyayapathi Srinivasa Rao quoted Volga's

"If a man is unfaithful, well a woman can be too!."
"If a husband doesn't lookafter the kids, the wife need not, either."

among other things, and asks, what socio-political values are upheld
by her writings. I do not know enough to comment on Volga's writings.
However, I don't think these specific quotations do not necessarily
imply lack of values in her writings.

In terms of logic, these statements are conditional, and must be
interpreted as such. They are in the general form:

If <premise> then <consequent>

Neither makes a statement on the unconditional acceptability of the
consequent.

While the scenario in the second statement is vastly more complex, I
believe both statements make sense, at least literally. The first
statement makes much more than literal sense, and as long as a man or
a woman is willing to be responsible for hir actions, what is wrong
with that statement?

Once again, I would like to point out that it is easy to get emotional
and get upset if the consequents are interpreted out of the context of
the premises. If socio-political values are to be upheld one gender
is perhaps more responsible than the other only if it has had a long
term socio-political advantages.
