namastE !

the units puTTi (in puTTeDu) and kunce (in kunceDu) are regular
units of volume particularly in measuring dhAnyam I believe.

Another expression of measurement is: mAneDu.

An observation :

There are few authentic telugu words (as opposed to words derived
from Sanskrit / Persian) in the time units list (only jhAmu),
the books units list (none), music units , while most of the ones
in weight/volume list and money list appear acca telugu words.

How I love these pure telugu words !

length : jAna, bette, bAra, moora, aDugu, vElu (as in vEleDu, vElu mandam)
wt/vol : sOla, vISe, maNuvu, sEru

A question to SCIT veterans (unrelated to the current subject):

Can somebody tell me where to find the discussion on / list of
sAmetalu that was posted on SCIT a long time back (I remember seeing
something of that sort) ?

TIA.

Regards,

Sankaram
