Andal Kalyaanam - A Kuchipudi Dance Drama

Place: Sri Siva Vishnu Temple Auditorium, Lahnam, Maryland

Date and Time: Sunday, Jan 19, 12:00 noon.

Like the recent Hit Drama - Sarvam Vishnu Mayam, by Kalamandapam group,
this Drama is also Choreographed by the greate dancer and teacher none
other than Mrinalini Sadananda, the founder and director of Kalamandapam,
school dedicated to Classical Indian Music and Dance (the same last name as
mine is only coincidental)

As with the Sarvam Vishnu Mayam most of the lyrics are composed by her with
the help of her sister, Nalini and with ragas set by my famous
brother-in-law - Mr. Vinjamuri Subash. This trio group has become
unbelievably good! You have to listen to the Ragas that change with each
scene dipicting the moods of the scene.

There are twenty five dancers involved and it is the story of Andal from
birth to her marrige to Lord Ranganatha. Like all young girls, before you
know it she grows fast into a full maiden ready for marriage!

Here is the brief synopsis of the drama for those who are interested.
