Hindu philosophy emphasizes on 'good deeds' (satkarma) and 'bad deeds'
(dusharma) and also says 'cEsina karmamu (pani) ceDani padArdhamu'. So, a
'good deed' can never compensate for a 'bad one'. However, nobody is
completely 'good' or completely'bad' (except for in imaginative writings
and projections). So, it is always wise to appreciate the 'good deed' and
condemn the 'bad ones' even both of those deeds from the same person. So,
once again the issue is the'point' but not the 'person', as the same person
may do sometimes good and sometimes bad, which is quite common for
everybody. If one wishes to balance out the good and bads of somebody and
decide on whether to appreciate or condemn that person, perhaps, we can
never find one to appreciate on this earth. Afterall, there wasn't much
history condemning 'buddha' for 'buddhism', for which he did irrepairable
injustice to his wife 'yaSOdhara' and son 'rAhul'.
