Aravinda at one time had several issues of TANA Patrika, but perhaps
not anymore. Jampala V. Chowdary, who is a member of this group, was
in charge of the magazine for a long time, either officially, or
un-officially. He may have a collection of the past issues of the
magazine.

Though TANA patrika has been in publication for a very long time, it
was not until 1989, when Nallamothu Satyanarayana became the President
of TANA, that regular (monthly) publication of the magazine, and its
dissemination to all the members of affiliated associations started.
Before that, to the best of my knowledge, it was a sporadic publication,
very irregular in its timing, and arbitrary in its distribution.

Searching through the past issues of TP for information on "history as
well as contemporary aspects of the Telugu immigrant community in the US"
is akin to the plight of the poor greek (I'll take it back, he might have
been a very rich bloke, for that matter, looking for a worthy heir for his
millions of drachmas) who is forever going around with a lantern, looking
for the honest man. Yet, you MAY find the needle in this haystack.

Another magazine, which has been in publication for a long time, is the
literary/news/cultural magazine of TLCA (Telugu Literary Cultural Associ-
ation) of NY/NJ area, called "Telugu Jyothi". I will look up the address
of this society, and perhaps the South Asian Studies Department may enetr
into some arrangement with this association to stock this publication, which
is 90% literary in content, as opposed to TP which is about 75% organizational
and news in content.

There are a lot "opinions" in the above paragraphs, masquerading as facts. If
I made any misrepresentations, conscious or otherwise, I hope that some other
members of this group, who have the information, would make the necessary
corrections.
