Autoposting

I am a new member on the list, and have been following the
"autoposting" messages since Aravinda's "freq. wondered questions".

I just wanted to put it on the record that I am pro choice -- the
TELUSA posters explicitly should choose to forward articles to SCIT.
Even if auto-crossposting is the default, the posters should have
a choice to NOT have their posts forwarded to SCIT (eg., the subject
line may read "OokadampuDu - NOT FOR SCIT" or "tOTakUra kADa: TELUSA
only").

I don't think it makes sense to post everything automatically to
tens of thousands of people. My impression of Telusa (please correct
me if I am wrong) is that it is a subject specific mailing list,
similar in spirit to lists that discuss Hungarian cuisine or African
art or X-ray angiography. The content of such a list, by definition,
is not appropriate or interesting to the entire population. An
in-depth analysis of Viswanatha Satyanarayana's works is most likely
boring to the typical SCIT reader, whereas it will be welcomed on
Telusa. Just because SCIT is available as a medium, I don't see why
everything should be posted there. An occasional, interesting post
about Telugu sAhityam may help "revitalize" SCIT (whatever that
means), but 10-15 posts a day will be, IMHO, an overkill.
