As Bh. Krishnamurti garu says, "appiccu vAdu..." is advice to one about
to settle in a new habitat,
not someone founding a new town, whereat town planning and suchlikes
come into the picture.
The connection in my mind is from an article in Jyoti monthly, some
month in '89 by
Sri N.BhimaRao, father of self and Uday Bhaskar. That article was about
'Ekistics', whose spelling I misrecollected. (etymological origin:
Oikesis-the science, study and whatever concerns the habitat of plants
and animals. Also
spelt ecistics/eccistics.)
Bh.K. garu, please don't take my explicit reference amiss. I have spent
five years at H.C.U. attempting a Master's, and am particularly aware of
your
stature as linguist. So while at significs, naturally Apka khayAl Aya.
We would all be greatly benefitted if you could lead us though the
semiotic
copula, whichsoever of logic/poetry be the subject/predicate.
Regards,
Som.
