sabhyulaku namaskAramsulu !

Any of you remember AIR Hyderabad's program "navalAsravanti" ? This
was one of those very good programs I liked in AIR. Every night at
9.00pm for about 30 minutes someone will read a novel for you over the
radio. They started with "rAjaSEkhara caritramu" of kandukUri and went
on broadcasting "civaraku migilEdi" of buccibAbu, "bratikina kAlEjI" of
..., "punarjanma" of viswanAtha. I heard that recently they even
broadcasted "bArishTar pArvatISam". These are different from the
"nATakAlu" they made out of the novels like "ganapati" (nandur subbarao
the great!) and etc.. It was in my high school days (early 80's).
I only heard the first three. We were in the villages of Bhadrachalam
forests in those days and radio was the only connection for us to the
outside world. Later as we moved to the "modern" land I lost touch with
AIR and got addicted to chitralahari, chitrahaar etc., on DD. Still, I
believe that AIR must have broadcasted many more novels in that program.
The quality of these readings was IMO very good. I don't know if any
attempt has been made to bring them to the market in any shape (record
or tape or CD). May be that (AIR Hyd) is the starting place if we want
to bring the audio books in telugu.

P.S. Please fill the blank, who is the author of "bratikina kAlEjI" ?
