Oh! my goodness!! Is that true?
Dear Madhav Kumar gaaroo!!
You might think I am rude, crude and uncivilized. I'll accept any one
and all of them in any order you prefer. But, pray, if my memory serves
me right( it ain't serving always right in this old age!!) you were requested
to just list the alaMkaarAs in the obscure cATuvu you posted and extolled it to
himalayan heights in so far as the 'embellishments' in it are concerned.
The poem is about a pilli, I think. You are giving us the entire kuvalayaanaMdaM
(or whatever it was!) and aDidamu soorakavi's translations, in stead!
Hey!! Don't mistake me. You have every right to post anything you want
as long as it pertains to telugu (ha! ha!!)literature!! ( Once, I was
told on another listserver, that as long as I write a couple of sentences
in the dEvabhaasha, I can post almost anything there!!)
I cite my personal experience in this country. Let me tell you a story.
It is true, in deed!
During the last days of the Vietnam war era in this blessed father country of
mine, I knew a draft resisitor guy in the Washington D.C., area, who owned a
one-man AM radio station. It was a 24 hour noise maker too, in deed! When he
did not find anything to say on this feeble station, he used to read Shakespere,
Milton, Keats, Hemingway and what not, on the air!! The only redeeming feature
was that the reception area for the station was extremely limited and a large
body of the working American s ignored the noise!
Madhava Kumar gArU!! Please don't take my post as completely offensive! I am
being realistic and as polite as I can be, and am prepared to pay the price,
if you choose to flame me, either publicly on telusA or privately! It was your
choice, sir!!!
Waiting in the wings,
Yours sin'ly,
Venkateswara Rao Veluri
