"Dangerous" in English is also often used to mean "fraught with
exciting possibilities."
In Tamil, people also use "bhayankaram" to mean brilliant
(idiomatically, "so brilliant it is scary"). In certain types of US
street slang, "bad" is to mean "very good", as in "that Michael Jordan
is really baad on the basketball court."
I too seem to have heard the "pramaadam" usage in Tamil, but I expect
it is idiomatic as with bayangaram.
