I think we need to be clear on this issue, before we launch the
RFD on SCIT. I personally would prefer using the same name, but the
moderator of srvaishnava spoke very discouragingly about it. If many
sites do not change the existing configuration, the cross-posts
will still be appearing rendering our automoderation ineffective.
Although I would like to believe that using the same name doesn't
really pose a serious problem, I would appreciate if the more
knowledgeable folks on this forum can enlighten us on the pros
and cons of this issue. Also, does anyone know of instances where
an unmoderated newsgroup is changed to a moderated one without
changing the name ?
