I was expecting for almost a week to see a post from Sri Syamala
raavu that would express some contrition for his earlier post.
Unfortunately, his latest post seems to imply that characterizing other
posters with 'BAD' words that are 'a bit harsh' is understandable because
they criticized the work of somebody that he has a lot of respect for. May
be I am being overly sensitive, but it reminded me of the justifications
invoked in SCIT by some colorful posters attacking a certain famous SCITter not
too long ago. Of course, Syaamalaraavu gaari language is nowhere close to
that of those literati. But, the nagging question remains if the difference
isn't only a matter of degree.

Unlike Ramakrishna gaaru, I perceived the issue not merely as one of
intemperate words, but more as one of inappropriate direction where the
topic addressed was not the prior posts, but the posters themselves. I, for
one, regret that very little has been said about the latter.

PS: My apologies if anybody perceives this as an attack on
Syaamala raavu gaaru. I have no intention of saying anything about
Syaamala raavu, the person. I hope that the distinction is clear.
