Hi Friends:

1. Personally speaking for myself, it is quite uncomfortable
and not very easy to read Telugu poetry and prose posted in the
Roman script. Much more so, if it is a long prose piece. I have
no difficulty with a couple of sentences, or a small quotation
here and there interspersed in the post. In such cases, it is not
difficult to read it on the screen and follow the essence of the
message.

When the piece in the Roman-scripted Telugu is too long, I have
to print it, relax, have a drink, and try to read the "whole"
thing and digest. Wow! Particularly so, if in anyway, the post
refers to me or to one of my blurts !!

Do others have any such difficulties? Or am I the odd ball? I
suppose I am not well trained? Ha?

2. I face another uncomfortable and difficult situation, not
related to Roman-scripted Telugu alone.

When someone replies to a post, he/she invariably quotes only
a part (he/she must certainly believe that part as the most
relevant!)of that post; expands, expounds, and occasionally gives
even a 'friendly reprimand.'

The next critic that follows the thread goes to requote only that
portion of the first reply; expands, expounds and throws in
another 'friendly reprimand.'

The third one, the fourth one and the fifth one ...etc., continue
in the same vein. Sounds almost like:

" aMdaja BheemudaMda dada daMdada daMdada daMda daMdadaM
daMdada daMdadaM ............" ( I hope we can still take a joke
and laugh!)

I am afraid of a real danger in such 'clipped' exercises and
expose`s. The intent, the humor if any, of the original post
might be mostly lost, if not all. That is, one might remember
only the daMdadaMs. The poor fellow who posted the initial post
may become a 'victim' of unnecessary 'surgical cruelty.' Since
this surgery is free, even if it is cruel, he/she might 'enjoy'
it. Of course, this is beside the point.

I sincerely believe that in all replies it helps to keep the
entire post, particularly so if the original post gets branded as
controversial, or labeled as 'mischievous,', or both, It makes
life easier for all; we can laugh at ourselves, and much much
easier even to the referees to kill the refrain or to TKO it.

Regards.
