1) I am glad to see Ramakrishna gaaru reiterating that politeness
to each other is one of the ground rules of participating in this forum.
I thank him for that.
2) I do not equate politeness to each other with dullness. I
believe that mature people can discuss disagreeable, controversial
topics, even those that indict their sacred cows, without discussing the
personalities, intellectual and cognitive estimates, and the quality of
the genetic pools of the participants.
3) I do not have anything against 'mischievous' or
'tongue-in-cheek' posts either. Actually, I enjoy reading them and
occasionally indulge in some myself. Being a veteran of several useless
arguments, and a reader (and author) of several useless posts, I cannot
rightly condemn them. I have to confess that my belonging to this very
group is one of the signs of my prediliction for doing useless things,
4) I do not agree that we need to have a moratorium on the
discussion of Chinnaya soori's Telugu, because the thread has become
contankerous. All it needs is that the participants to take a deep breath,
examine their post one more time before it leaves their terminal, sleep
on it if necessary, and remove any references to the personalities,
genetic pools and intellectual levels of the participants. Keeping the
posts brief and on topic would be helpful. But, if one feels the need for
an extra-long post, so be it. But, please check to see if you can shorten
it.
5) I think that we should be free to raise controversial topics,
even if they attack somebody's sacred cows as long as the topics fall
within the broadly defined Telugu 'literary' umbrella in the original
charter. I promise not to take any put down of koDavaTiganTi kuTumba
raavu personally (but, be prepared for a long thread though) ;-)
Now, what is it that I heard somebody say about my vEyi paDagalu?
