I'll try to address the issues of "OBSCENITY" & "OBNORMALITY" in samasyA
pUraNam in this article by illustrating the pUraNalu with some examples.
Most of these samasyalu and my attempts at their pUraNamulu appeared in
the newsgroup SCIT, about two years back. The samasyalu originated from
different posters including SrIyutulu KUram T. nArAyaNa, PALANA, SARADA,
PALAKA, ramAkAnt, PVN RAO, SrInivAs nAgulapalli and some other telugu
netters including myself and I put them forward in front of you with my
attempts at the pUraNamulu, inviting other possible variations, comments
and views from all interested fellow telusa'ers.
A common thing to observe in these samasyalu is that most of them have
a little pun/fun associated with them and were formulated with a little
sense of this "camatkAram" in mind, rather than their "candO structures"
and for that reason, some of these samasyalu may not fall under any
specific "metre" and the pUraNalu also follow the same, except that
the "prAsa" is observed in most of them giving them a musical (some what)
structure that rhymes as close as possible in tune with the original
samasya structure itself. And whenever there was a possibility of
the samasya falling under known metre, I tried to give my pUraNa
attempts in candO-badhdha as well as non-candO form.
I do not intend to OFFEND any of the candO followers by posting these
samasyalu here and I stress again that I am also an ardent fan of candO
badhdha padya racana and I duly respect all those 'legal heirs' of cinnayya
sUri tAta. Well, any samasya has pun and fun in it. To fill out such a
samasya is a challenge to a REAL avadhAni and that is the beauty and art
of avadhAna prakriya.

modest fledgling attempts on these pUraNalu as an amateur, for your

I appreciate that pUraNa for being frank enough to support the samsasya in
its own way, but I think that an alternative could also be thought of as the
following. No offense but, 'pancAngam' anTE maroka(paina ceppinadi kAkunDaa)
