Here is an attempt at the samasya, from a slightly different angle.
I hope, in spite of the amateurish attempt, it doesn't require an
explanation of what it means. My notes indicate that "yati maitri"
exists between "vaa" and "bhaa" in the third line.

moolambau tana sphoorti yandu vikaTambainaTTi haasyaamRtam
kaalambaatani padyaprauDhi kagu sankEtammu eenaaTikin
vaalambunDuTa raamakRshNuniki sambhaavyammugaa tOchinan (OR tochinaa)
vaalambokkaTi lEdu kaani itaDaa vaalmeekikin tammuDE!

I am sure it could use great improvements from knowledgeable critics.

My own feeling is it doesn't sound right in places, e.g., "yandu",
"agu" and "tochinan/tochinaa", but well, there it is.

By the way, I don't think the "karavaalam" solution works, although it
is a good suggestion by Sree ramakRshNa Sanka. This is because "vaalam"
must be preceded by a "guruvu" (no pun intended :-).
