Here is some very interesting information/announcement from
Sri Vanguri Chitten Raju, President, Vanguri Foundation Of
America, Inc.
The First Telugu Literary Symposium Of America will be held
in Atlanta GA. on May 23-24, 1998 ( Memorial Day weekend).
Several literary discussions such as Telugu short stories,
poetry, critical and scholarly analyses,"Sweeya Kavitha
Pathanam", discussions and action plans for teaching Telugu
in North America to yougsters, techincal sessions on Telugu
software etc.. are planned.
You are requested to to participate and share your literary
talents and enjoy this unique literary event and make it a
success.

FIRST TELUGU LITERARY SYMPOSIUM OF AMERICA

CALL FOR ARTICLES IN TELUGU & ENGLISH
The Symposium Committee invites original contributions for
presentation at the First Telugu Literary Symposium of America
to be held in Atlanta, GA.
on May 23-24, 1998.
Suggestions to Contributors
* Short Story (Original Kadhanika)
* Poem (Original Kavitha, Geyam)
* Skit, One act play (Original Natika)
* Essays on Literary aspects of Telugu such as analyses of the
work of Nannaya, Tikkana, Devulapalli, Sri Sri etc.,
* Translations into and from Telugu, Contributions of Telugu to
World Literature, Impact of world literary trends on Telugu
literature.
* Essays on innovative approaches to teach Telugu in North America,
* Original articles on educational tools available, commercial and
non-commercial for learning written and verbal communications in
Telugu particularly suitable for second generation youngsters,
Analyses on Telugu software, improvements and key board
standardization, Telugu language in performing arts such as dance,
music and movies.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION
1. All contributions must be original and unpublished.
2. Independent Editorial Committees will review all the articles
submitted for presentation and publication. The Editorial
Committees consisting of distinguished people in each literary
aspect will be chaired and coordinated by Dr. Pemmaraju Venugopala
Rao (General Editor, Vanguri Foundation of America, Inc.). All
contributors will be informed of the status of the submitted
articles in a timely manner.
3. Maximum number of pages is limited to 25 hand written pages and
10 type set pages for each article.
4. The Proceedings of the Conference will be published immediately
after the conference and will be mailed to all registered
participants. Pre-prints of selected contributions will be available
at the Conference Venue.
5. Contributors are encouraged to submit articles typeset in POTHANA
Fonts, PC/MAC version. English articles must be in MSWord, New
Roman Fonts. Floppy disk and two hard copies are required for each
article submitted.
6. The following information must be included along with the article.
Author's Name, Address, Home Phone, Day Time Phone, FAX, e-mail,
Name and other details of the person who will present the article,
if different from the author and Audio visual equipment needs
(Slide projector, Overhead projector, etc.)
7. Mr. Y.V. Syam Sundar, Atlanta, is the ChairPerson of the Symposium
Committee. Registration to attend the conference is necessary for
presentation and/or publication of the articles. Please contact Mr.
