yes, it is a wonderful song! it was sung by (from Kovvuru?) Susila and
Subbalakshmi. They also used to sing " Marali Vedali Pokumaa, Karuna
Kshanamu Nilabaduma" (karunasri?) among many other equally beautiful
songs. that period of AIR vijayawada songs are the best in light music.
(No, i am not saying anything about Anasuya, Sita or Bala murali and
others). my personal favorite was voleti. and of course
susila/subbalakshmi, VB kanaka durga (talking about versatility),
vinjamuri lakshmi, srirangam gopalaratham, NCh jagannathacharylu ( my
personal choice " Evaru nirminichiro E chitrasaala, Evaridee silpammu
evaridee leela", i think by amarendra).
I still remember, on sunday nights there used to be song of the month. The
deal is you have to get the tune and the lyrics of the song in those four
weeks. Usually they never used to play those songs again! my brother and i
used to argue on everything, from lyrics to the tune, till the new song
comes..
Once again about Voleti. there was a musical on Meera (played by Srirangam
Gopalaratnam) and written by Indraganti Srikantha Sarma. To me, he is one
of the best poets we have. Even his patriotic songs during emergency were
excellent. anyway, coming back to Meera, if there can be life and shape to
a feeling, it was there in those songs. again my favorite "Sakhiya
Nidurannadi Nenerugane"...
Couldn't resist the memories.......
