Actually, "cEsina pApam cepitE pOtundiTa". andukanEnEmO, catholic 
church-lalO confessional booths unDaTam.

"kanduva" anna padAniki artham nAku teliyadu. pakkanE Sabda-ratnAkaram 
unnA, teesi cUDalEdu. nA daggarunna bhAgavatam edition-lOnE foot-note-lO 
"vAna-kanduva"=varsha Rtuvu ani unTE adi rAsAnu.

The word has such a veriety of meanings, it is really surprising. Many a 
time one can see a coomon thread running through seemingly different 
meanings of a word, but I am afraid I can't see that here.
